Everyday I talk to people who are trying to reach a goal. The vast majority of them have a plan and even know what they want to change. The problem is they are missing a very basic concept of success. As a gift to you I am going to share it with you now. The life you are living is a reflection of you. That’s it! This is why the law of attraction works as well as the law of sow and reap, which are each basically the same thing.
Without this piece of knowledge, I listen to people give me a laundry list of all the things that need to change in order for them to reach their goal. The fascinating point is all these things are outside of them. So they are trying to fix the reflection instead of the thing creating the reflection.
Let’s exam this idea a little deeper so you can have a better understanding of what I am saying. Imagine yourself standing in a room surrounded by four white walls. In the middle of the room is a yellow light bulb. So all the white walls are now yellow.
Let’s take it one step further and say you have decided the only way you will be happy is if the walls were blue. You think about it a little more and decide you would be perfectly happy of only one of the walls were blue. This is a similar compromise we all make with our dreams.
You spend all of your time researching how you can make one of your walls blue. You finally meet someone who can help you and they tell you to stop procrastinating, get off your rear end, go down to Home Depot or Lowe’s, buy some green paint and brushes, go back to your room and paint the wall blue.
You take a deep breath and say, “Finally, some one has a plan and can tell me what to do. You are so excited as you are buying the paint. You are almost to the point of nirvana thinking how great your life is going to be once the wall is blue. As you finish painting the wall you step back and feel your heart drop into your stomach as you now see a green wall.
Listening to this analogy you are saying, “Duh. The wall is green because the yellow light and the blue paint make green.” However, most people do not see this obvious problem, they start on a journey full of enthusiasm and when they get to the end, they realize their life has not changed as they thought. Frustration sets in as this happens over and over again until most people just give up and accept life for whatever it is for them.
Using this analogy, you should logically ask, “Why didn’t they just change the yellow light bulb to a blue bulb.” This is exactly what I would like everyone to understand. You change your life by changing your light bulb not by painting the walls around you. When you do this you will have four blue walls not just one.
This concept drives everything in your life. From simple things like putting a smile on your face and noticing how many people start smiling at you as you go about your day, to more complicated ideas like the new age idea of the law of attraction or the theological teaching of sow and reap. All of these work off of this simple principle I am teaching you.
Bringing this analogy into your life, your light bulb is the belief system your life has taught you. So changing your light bulb is taking the time to learn how you establish a belief and then changing your beliefs to create the reflection your want your life to be. Once you get this concept, you possess the knowledge of how you can achieve any goal in your life.
You definitely need things in your life to change but you need to stop the insanity of trying to change the reflection and make the effort to change the light bulb creating the reflection.
Thank you for your time and I wish you all the best.
